Does it matter who you grab your starter kit from?

Do you ever have those days where you just need a little love and positivity?

I diffused all the right oils this morning and used my grounding roller blends, but just couldn't shake the "grumps." Then I got the sweetest card and 3 rollers from my sweet friend and leader. πŸ’™ You guys, I have never seen so many generous people in one space in my life.  So thankful for Young Living and the greatest oily fam. 😌

People often ask me "if it matters" who you grab your starter kit from and I tell them YES.  It absolutely matters.  You have to be sure you can trust the person that helps you grab your kit to walk this journey with you and TEACH you.  Thats one thing I can happily promise to people when they choose to grab a kit with me.  Not only are you grabbing everything you need to start with essential oils, but you're also joining a community.  We have member resource groups set up just to help you succeed.

Back to School - Tip #10 Food Ideas!

Back to School - Tip #10
Food Ideas | Energy Bites

Lets take a YL time-out to chat about one of our FAVORITE recipes for energy bites. They're no-bake which gives them an A+ in my book. They taste like a cookie! Don't tell the kiddos that they are full of protein and are naturally sweetened.

--Chocolate Peanut Butter No-Bake Energy Bites--
Ingredients:
1 cup (dry) oatmeal (gluten free oats can be used)
2/3 cup toasted unsweetened coconut flakes
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup ground flax seed
1/3 cup honey or agave nectar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon chia seeds (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 or 4 drops of Thieves oil

Directions:
1. Stir all ingredients together until thoroughly mixed.
2. Cover + chill in the fridge for at least half an hour.
3. Once chilled, roll into balls of whatever size you would like.
4. Store in an airtight container and keep refrigerated for up to 1 week. Makes about 20-25 bites.
*If the mix seems to dry, add in an extra tablespoon or two of honey or peanut butter. If the mix seems too wet (which may happen if you use natural peanut butter), add extra oatmeal.
ENJOY!

Back to School - Tip #9 Respiratory System!

Back to School - Tip #9

Respiratory System | Much Needed Support

Hearing "Back to school" immediately makes me think of all things fall.
Football, pumpkin spice, warm meals, sweaters, and of course cooler temps.

It is SO very important to support our respiratory systems while we sleep.  An easy way to do this is to put our essential oils in a diffuser.  We diffuse RC & Thieves in everyone's bedroom.  When we're breathing normally, we sleep better.  We ALL could use a great sleep around this time of year.

Breathe Again Roll-on and Raven are also great respiratory system support oils!
These 4 oils should be kept handy in your oily toolbox throughout the school year!

Why does it matter what brand of oils I use?

So why can't I just buy my oils from Walmart, Target, a health store, or Amazon?

When you walk into Walmart or Target, and you see a bottle of essential oil for $9.99, it’s tempting to give it a try. The bottle may even say that it is “all natural.” If you notice, the bottles or packaging will always say something like: “not for human consumption,” or “not for internal use,” or “do not apply topically.”

As a general rule of thumb, it is less expensive to artificially synthesize a chemical in the lab than it is to obtain it from its natural source. The business of growing, harvesting, and distillation is a much more tedious task than producing the constituent in a chemical factory which has the capacity to produce tons of the molecule in less than 24 hours.

So, if you’re allowed to put “natural” on the bottle with an artificially synthesized product, and the artificial product is cheaper to manufacture, and you’re a company whose primary driver is to maximize profits by lowering costs, what are you going to do? You’re going to manufacture the chemical, throw it in a bottle, and put “natural” on the label. And then you’re going to protect yourself from liability by placing disclaimers on the bottle.

You might argue that you won’t use this oil on your skin, or take it internally. You’ll just use it for diffusing in your home so that it “smells nice” or for aromatherapy. Well, the most direct route for a chemical to enter your bloodstream (other than injection) is through your lungs. The chemical constituents found in essential oils enter your lungs, and then directly and immediately diffuse into your capillaries and blood stream within minutes. As you diffuse this oil in your home, the toxic chemicals and solvents that are in your cheap essential oil will make it into your bloodstream. And if you have children or babies at home, these toxic compounds are entering their bloodstreams as well!

It is really important to know that not all essential oils are therapeutic grade and safe to use in the ways Young Living essential oils are. For example, those oils you saw at the health market probably cannot be ingested the way Young Living oils can. After researching Young Living's "Seed to Seal" process and seeing that many other essential oil brands contain synthetic oils, I knew it was the product I felt safest using. I started using Young Living oils for my own health reasons. I never thought I would become a part of the company as a distributor!

Back to School - Tip #8 Immunity Support!

Tip #8
Immunity Support | Super C Chewables

🍊With starting school again, our kiddos are exposed to new germs and sicknesses. Like everyone else, we want to avoid all of those icky things... So I'm always looking for ways to support our immune systems!
🍊One way we support our bodies is with the Super C supplements. They get a chewable Super C vitamin in the morning before school. (I take a Super C tablet as well. Non chewable.)
🍊Both of these items are powerful antioxidants + vitamin C supplements. This is the sure-fire way to get the daily dose of Vitamin C that is needed to help support their growing bodies.
